Our Team
Jay
Halaj, Ph.D.
Senior Consultant (Corvallis, OR) -- Jay leads
continuing education seminars and provides clinical
support and
in-services
for practitioners.
Jay draws on his rich academic background to educate
health practitioners in the use of electromedicine,
including leading certification seminars and presentations.
Jay earned his doctorate from Oregon State University
in 1996 and later completed two post-doctoral trainings
at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and the University
of Kentucky in Lexington. In 1998 Jay was awarded a
prestigious National Science Foundation Fellowship.
In previous positions Jay has published 18 peer-reviewed
articles and gave more than 20 presentations at scientific
symposia and meetings. He has been a reviewer for 8
scientific journals.

Melora
A. Geyer, M.S.
Support Specialist and CME Coordinator (Corvallis,
OR) --
Melora provides technical support to ensure patients
are treating with the Alpha-Stim® according
to the manufacturer's and/or practitioner's instructions.
She also coordinates our continuing education seminars
and our presence at medical conferences. In previous
positions Melora assisted with development of
a multidisciplinary
medical
curriculum
project at
University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center and wrote
the US Department of Education grant proposal that funded
the project. At Miami University and Oregon State University
she also developed grant proposals for science education
projects, which were funded by the National Science Foundation,
US Department of Education, National Institutes of Health,
Ohio Board of Regents, Oregon Eisenhower Program, and
numerous foundations and business corporations. She also
coordinated continuing education seminars and professional
workshops for Oregon State University.
As a consultant for Horizon Research, Inc., Melora wrote
reviews of over 200 precollege science education books.
Melora served as research coordinator at Oregon State
University and University of Washington and co-authored
several peer-reviewed articles. Melora has a Master’s
of Science degree from Oregon State University and a
Bachelor’s
degree from UC Davis.

Kenneth
Shultz, Ed.D.
Psychological Advisor and Business Affiliate (Vancouver,
WA) -- Dr. Shultz is a licensed clinical psychologist
who earned his doctorate from the University of Southern
California.
He was formerly Clinical Director of the Tarzana Psychiatric
Hospital and member of the Washington State Advisory Subcommittee
on Substance Abuse. Dr. Shultz describes his therapeutic
approach as "Integrative". His training has included
Humanistic and Gestalt Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy (CBT), Object Relations, EMDR, Attachment and Interpersonal
NeuroBiology, and Alpha-Stim® CES and MET. Dr. Shultz
is a member of the Washington State Psychological Association
(WSPA), the American Psychological Association (APA) and
the EMDR International Association. He holds the APA Proficiency
Certificate in the Treatment of Alcohol and Other Psychoactive
Substance Use Disorders and is a Diplomate of The American
Board of Medical Psychotherapists. Dr. Shultz has been
in practice since 1969. He has practiced in Vancouver,

Richard
A. Wyckoff, Ph.D.
Psychological Advisor and Business Affiliate (Seattle,
WA) --
Dr. Wyckoff is a licensed clinical psychologist who
earned his doctorate
from the University of Pittsburgh. He specializes in adult & geriatric
behavioral medicine and pain management. He is a Diplomate
of both the American Academy of Pain Management and the
American Board of Disability Analysts. He is also certified
by the
American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists,
the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the International
Society of Neurolinguistic Programming. His training includes
applied psychophysiology (biofeedback), transactional analysis,
Gestalt therapy, and Alpha-Stim® CES and MET. He is
a member of the Washington Association of Pain Management.
Previously, Dr. Wyckoff served as Director of Psychology
for the Pittsburgh Headache Institute and consulted in
numerous
hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. From 1988 to
1998, he provided clinical services to residents and consultation
and training services to management and staff of long term
care facilities. From 1998 to 2004 Dr. Wyckoff and his
wife
were the providers of a grant-funded program to train skilled
nursing home staff in non-pharmacologic behavior management
to some 200 facilities throughout Pennsylvania. Dr. Wyckoff
has been in practice since 1969 and has practiced in the
Seattle, Washington, area since 2005.

Marcia
Sims, M.S.W.
Sales Representative (Salem, OR) -- Marcia
earned her master’s
degree at Portland State University in 1998. A social worker
since 1976, she has extensive experience working with individuals,
groups and families. Early in her professional career she
worked in community social services and community organization
in San Diego, Los Angeles, Oakland, Vallejo and San Mateo
County, in California. Her work included organizational
planning and project coordination among individuals
and families in
neighborhood and faith-based groups. After beginning the
doctoral program in social work, she began counseling
at a clinic in Corvallis, Oregon,
which specializes in the outpatient treatment of individuals
for dependence or addiction to opioids. There, Marcia encountered
patients with various concerns which could be treated with
Alpha-Stim® microcurrent electrical stimulation such
as anxiety, depression, insomnia and pain. In the Salem
Area, and as a chiropractic assistant, Marcia collaborates
with
chiropractors in reducing patients' symptoms and demonstrates
for staffs the uses and benefits of the Alpha-Stim® Technology.
She also established a network for chiropractic assistants
to offer support and training including the proper use
of Alpha-Stim®.

Sheri
Piper.
Sales Representative (Tucson, AZ) -- Sheri brings
over 20 years of business and marketing experience to her
work
with integrative
mental
health professionals and physicians in Tucson. Addiction
recovery, post-traumatic stress, fibromyalgia, anxiety
disorders, women’s health, and corporate stress management
programs are areas of special focus. She earned her B.A.
in Psychology at the University of Cincinnati, and most
recently had a 12-year career as a project manager with
a Fortune 500 company—Visa U.S.A. —in San Francisco.
Earlier in her career, she served as marketing manager
at the Vernon Manor Hotel in Cincinnati. A longtime wellness
advocate, Sheri is a certified Lebed Method therapeutic
exercise instructor and Tai Chi Easy facilitator. Since
moving to Tucson in 2006, Sheri founded the Gentle Fitness
exercise program to help seniors at assisted living centers
stay fit and strong, and served as an advertising account
executive for The New Southwest, a monthly newspaper focused
on healthy lifestyles and good news stories from the local
community. She has also served as a volunteer grant writer
for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona and exercise
instructor at Handmaker Assisted Living Center. As a community
volunteer in San Francisco, Sheri worked with children
and seniors through the Samaritan House, Yes Reading, YMCA
Building Futures Mentoring Program and Windchime Alzheimer’s
Care Center.

Robyn Vega, M.S.
Patient Support Specialist (Corvallis, OR) -- Robyn assists patients in the acquisition of the Alpha-Stim® and related supplies. She provides technical support to maximize the benefit which patients receive from the Alpha-Stim® by treating according to the manufacturers and/or practitioner's instructions. Through previous positions, Robyn gained an understanding of eldercare for dementia patients and care for children with varying abilities. Robyn completed her Master of Science Degree at Oregon State University and her Bachelor of Arts Degree at UC Santa Barbara. Since 2003 she has served as a volunteer at Corvallis Public Schools. Robyn also assists children with numerous community service projects. |
